Terms of use
Version 1.1, 28 September 2026.
1. What CauseHub is
CauseHub is an online platform, operated by SevinHub (KBO/BCE 1042.245.006, Blivensstraat 43 bus 101, 2100 Antwerpen, Belgium), where people and organisations present causes and anyone can donate to them. We provide the software, review causes and handle reports. We are not a charity, not a bank and not a party to the gift: a donation is a gift from the donor to the organiser or organisation that runs the cause.
2. We never hold donations
Payments are processed by Stripe, a licensed payment provider, and settle directly into the organiser's own verified Stripe account. CauseHub receives only its own optional tip. Organisers must also accept Stripe's terms, including the Stripe Connected Account Agreement.
3. Fees
- 0% platform fee on donations. This is permanent: we will not introduce a fee on donations without 3 months' notice to every organiser, and never on money already raised.
- Processing costs are charged by the payment provider on each donation. They are shown before the donor pays. Donors can choose to cover them.
- The optional tip goes to CauseHub. It starts at zero, is never pre-selected, is not part of the gift and is not tax deductible. The processing cost caused by a tip is carried by CauseHub, never by the cause.
4. Donors
- You must be at least 16 and use a payment method you are entitled to use.
- You can ask for a refund within 30 days from your private receipt page. A person reviews every request. Refunds always go back to the original payment method.
- Gifts are only tax deductible where the cause is marked as such; the certificate then comes from the recognised organisation. Gifts to individuals are not tax deductible.
- If a cause turns out to be fraudulent, report it. We act on reports, cooperate with the police and help donors recover their money through the payment provider.
5. Organisers
- You must be 18 or older, tell the truth, and use the money only as described.
- If you raise for another person, you need their consent and must pass the money on to them, or let them receive it directly.
- You must complete Stripe's identity check before you can receive money. We strongly recommend two-step verification; when we require it, your dashboard tells you before you connect payouts.
- You agree to post a receipt or delivery update within 60 days of receiving money, and a final update when the cause ends. Proof you post is permanently recorded in our impact log.
- You must follow the dignity guidelines and the rules on what can and cannot be funded.
- For now, goals are limited to 10,000 euro. Larger causes will release money in milestones backed by proof once milestone payouts open.
- You are responsible for any tax on money you receive and for keeping your own records.
6. Creators
Creators may link causes to their profile and share them with their audience. CauseHub pays no commission on donations. If a company pays you to promote a cause, you must label it clearly as advertising in your content, as consumer law requires, and the cause page will show "sponsored by".
7. Review, moderation and your rights
- A person reviews every cause before it goes live, and anyone can report a cause.
- We may reject, suspend or remove a cause, pause payouts, or suspend an account when the law or these terms are broken, or when we reasonably suspect fraud. Payouts may be held while we check.
- Every such decision comes with a statement of reasons that says what we decided, why, and how to contest it. You can reply within 6 months and a person reviews the decision again, taking your new information into account. You may also use a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body under Article 21 of the Digital Services Act, or go to court.
- We rank causes by status, verification level and recency. Nobody can pay to be ranked higher.
8. Content
You keep the rights to what you post. You allow us to show it on CauseHub and in shares of your cause while it is online, and to keep proof in the impact log. Do not post anything you have no right to share.
9. Liability
We check causes carefully, but we cannot guarantee that every organiser uses money as promised. Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, for gross negligence, or where the law does not allow it. Otherwise, our liability is limited to direct damage and to the amount of tips we received in connection with the matter.
10. Changes and law
We announce changes to these terms at least 30 days in advance. Belgian law applies. If you are a consumer you keep the protection of the law of your country of residence, and you can go to the courts there.
